About Me
I work at the intersection of mindfulness, movement, and human regulation.
For much of my life, my work appeared to span different worlds: martial arts, meditation, counselling, leadership development, and systems thinking. Over time, a deeper pattern became impossible to ignore.
Across stress, burnout, emotional overload, conflict, and breakdown, the core issue was rarely a lack of intelligence, insight, or motivation. It was a lack of regulatory capacity.
Modern life places unprecedented demands on the human nervous system. Most people were never taught how regulation actually works—how to stabilize attention, settle the body, work with emotion, and remain grounded under real-world pressure. My work exists to address that gap.
What I Do
I help individuals, leaders, and organizations build Energy Regulation Capacity—the ability to remain present, adaptive, and grounded under load. Rather than focusing on symptoms, diagnoses, or pathology, my approach is capacity-based and solution-focused. Regulation is treated as a trainable skill, much like strength, balance, or coordination.
When regulation improves:
clarity improves
decision-making improves
resilience improves
relationships improve
This work is practical, embodied, and grounded in lived experience—not theory alone.
How I Work
My teaching integrates multiple disciplines into a unified regulatory framework, including:
Mindfulness and awareness training
Breath-centered and embodied movement
Somatic and postural regulation
Energy awareness and self-regulation practices
Trauma-aware, choice-based methods
Systems thinking applied to human behavior
The emphasis is always on felt experience, not performance—on learning to sense, adjust, and recover rather than push or override.
The Structure of the Work
The work is organized as a developmental pathway, not a collection of techniques:
Energy Regulation Reset (ERR)
An orientation and stabilization phase that helps people slow down, reset, and understand regulation at a foundational level.
Foundations of Energy Regulation (FER)
A skills-based training approach that builds durable, embodied regulation through practice, integration, and real-world application.
Energy Regulation Capacity (ERC)
The outcome of the work—greater capacity to meet stress, emotion, complexity, and uncertainty with steadiness and presence.
This progression reflects a shift from short-term relief toward long-term capability.
The Broader View
This work also extends beyond individuals.
Through the lens of regulation, I explore how personal capacity scales into leadership, organizations, and societal systems—how stability, adaptability, and coherence emerge when regulation is present, and how breakdown occurs when it is not.
This inquiry forms the foundation of my ongoing work on the Regulatory Singularity—the idea that regulation, not intelligence or technology alone, is the true limiting factor in human and systemic evolution.
Intention
Whether teaching a course, leading mindful movement, writing, or working one-to-one, my intention is the same:
To help people cultivate the internal capacity needed to live, work, and lead with greater clarity, resilience, and self-trust.
Regulation is not about control.
It is about relationship—with the body, the breath, emotion, and the world we move through.
That is the work I do.
Life & Practice
Ken lives in Nova Scotia, where he is restoring an historic building and continues to write, teach, and develop new programs. When not working with clients, he enjoys quiet time in nature, qigong practice, mindful renovation, hiking, kayaking, and exploring the energetic relationships between movement, breath, and daily living.
He is committed to helping others discover steadiness, clarity, and an authentic sense of inner home.
Ken continues to teach, write, and explore mindful living. Those interested in connecting can visit the Contact page.
